the right time to study is?

Teacher training course participation pre-requisites

While there are no strict prerequisites and we don’t exclude people who are injured, this course is extremely physical and asks each participant to fully immerse themselves in the method in all senses. The original work is therapeutic and as Joe Pilates said, “Change happens through movement and movement heals”, however this course is built for those looking to push towards the top end of the original work in their own practice and body.

  • You should be knowledgeable of the original Mat and Reformer order, that it exists and have a solid awareness of the exercises. If not, please complete some sessions with us or your teacher prior to the first day of school

  • Courses are designed for participants who are already practicing to a strong intermediate level, including inversions, backbends and balance work. In other words, you need to be very familiar with the method and the apparatus you are studying before signing up

  • We ask you to be available for all face to face sessions

  • You will need to be able to complete physical and written assessments. If you require additional time for written assessments or different conditions, please reach out before enrolling to ensure we can support you in this

  • Studying one module requires at least five hours per week of devoted study and more in the weeks where there are delivery sessions. Ensure your work and home life is set up to sustain this without having a negative impact on your wellbeing for this 6+ month course

  • If you are studying the comprehensive programme you would need to set aside 10-15 hours per week (including your practice teaching hours) for the 18-24 month timeline

If you enrol, we assume that you aware of all of these considerations and our expectations to certify (if you chose); you will also be required to sign a training agreement to this end.
